- ১২–১৮ মাসে ইশারা ও ছবির নাম শুনে সাড়া দেওয়ার খেলা। পরে একই বই দিয়ে নাম বলা ও গল্পও চলতে পারে, তবে এই বয়সে তথ্য মুখস্থ করার প্রত্যাশা নেই। বড়দের সঙ্গে দেখুন এবং ঘুমের জায়গায় বই রেখে দেবেন না।

How play develops
- At 6–12 months, focus on touch, pages and shared looking. At 12–18 months, follow pointing and responses to familiar names. The books can remain useful for later vocabulary and stories, but factual recall is not the expectation in this age range. Share with an adult and keep books out of the sleep space.
ফুলের রং কিংবা বাসের ছবি—পরিচিত কোনো কিছু চোখে পড়লেই বাবু থামে। পাতাটি স্থির ধরে নাম বলুন। একটু পরে সেই ছবিতে আবার আঙুল রাখলে বুঝবেন, সে কথোপকথনে নিজের মতো করে ফিরেছে।
