এক হাত বল্টু ধরে আছে, অন্য হাত নাট ঘোরাচ্ছে। বেশি তাড়াহুড়া করলে কাত হয়ে যায়; একটু সোজা করতেই আবার ঘোরে। বড়রা বলুন, “কোন দিকে ঘোরালে খুলবে?” উত্তরটি মুখে না বলেও বাবু হাতে দেখাতে পারে। পরে এই জোড়াগুলোই ছোট্ট সেতু বা নিজের বানানো যন্ত্র হয়।

৩–৪ বছরে খোলা-লাগানো ও আকৃতি মেলানো; ৪–৬ বছরে গাঁথা ও কয়েকটি অংশ জুড়ে মডেল; ৬–৮ বছরে নিজের পরিকল্পনায় গঠন বদলানো। ছোট অংশ ও দড়ির জন্য বড়দের তত্ত্বাবধানে খেলুন।

Fastening gives each hand a different job: hold the bolt steady and turn the nut. That coordination is useful even before a child builds a recognizable model. Add planks and the same pieces become a construction problem with more than one solution.

At 3–4, explore fastening and matching. At 4–6, add threading and simple models. At 6–8, plan structures and change connections to solve a problem. Supervise small parts and the lacing cord; the aim is controlled practice, not speed.
